WINTER DIESEL WEEK – FEBRUARY HALF TERM

Quick Details

Winter Diesel Week – February Half Term

14–22 February 2026 | Daily services

Join us for something a little different this February half term at the Brecon Mountain Railway, as our Winter Diesel Week returns.

During the winter months our steam locomotives undergo essential maintenance, giving our hardworking diesel locomotives their time in the spotlight. It’s a rare chance to enjoy a winter railway journey through the heart of the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park, with crisp air, dramatic scenery, and a wonderfully atmospheric feel.

What to expect

  • Three trains daily at 11:00, 12:30 and 14:00

  • One-hour round trip through stunning winter landscapes

  • Wrap up warm – our heritage carriages are unheated

  • No stop at Pontsticill during winter services

Back at Pant Station, you’ll find a warm welcome in our café and shop, perfect for thawing out before or after your journey.

Make it extra special

  • Upgrade your journey with a Cupola carriage ride for elevated views

  • Pre-book a cream tea or afternoon tea to enjoy in the Pant Tea Rooms

Winter prices

  • Adults: £20

  • Children: just £1

A relaxed, scenic, and great-value way to enjoy the February half term – whether you’re a railway enthusiast or simply looking for a memorable winter day out.
