Pant Station – Main Departure Point
Pant is the main station on the Brecon Mountain Railway, with a large free car and coach park directly beside the station for easy access.
Visitors can enjoy our licensed Tearooms, serving light refreshments, hot and cold drinks, and Cream Teas or Afternoon Teas (pre-booking required). Non-train travellers are very welcome.

Gift Shop offering locally inspired Welsh gifts and bespoke railway souvenirs

Workshop Viewing Gallery, where you can watch our steam locomotives and carriages being maintained
Pant is also the best place to start your visit, collect tickets, and learn more about the history of the railway.
Pontsticill Station – Lakeside Stop
All return journeys stop at Pontsticill, a scenic lakeside station with fantastic views of the reservoir and surrounding mountains.
Facilities include:

Lakeside Café, serving drinks, snacks, ice creams and light bites

Outdoor picnic area overlooking Pontsticill Reservoir

Children’s play area, popular with families

Accessible toilets with baby-changing facilities

Opportunities to see the locomotive up close, chat to the crew and take great photos
Please note: There is no public parking at Pontsticill Station. Access is via train only.
Torpantau Station – Summit of the Line
Torpantau is the end of the line, located high in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) at one of the highest railway summits in Britain.
When the train arrives, visitors can:

Watch the locomotive run round the carriages

Take unique photos of the engine and the surrounding mountain landscape

Enjoy views towards Pen-y-Fan, the highest peak in South Wales

Start a walk from Torpantau and return on a later train (please check times before setting off)
