Job Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week, including regular weekend work)
Salary: £26,000 per annum

We are now seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Track Worker/Trainee Footplate Crew.
Role Overview:
As a Track Worker/Trainee Footplate Crew member, you will be involved in the maintenance of the railway infrastructure and the operation of steam locomotives. The role is physically demanding and requires a high level of fitness and stamina. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in heritage railways, with the chance to develop into a skilled member of the footplate crew.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in maintaining and repairing railway tracks to ensure the safe operation of the railway.
- Support the footplate crew in the operation and maintenance of steam locomotives.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions, often in a physically demanding environment.
- Ensure safety standards are always adhered to, following company procedures and industry regulations.
- Participate in the daily inspection and upkeep of tools and equipment.
- Contribute to the smooth running of weekend operations, as weekend work is a regular part of the role.
Requirements:
- Physical Fitness: This role involves physical labour, including lifting, carrying, and working in outdoor conditions.
- Practical Experience: While previous experience in a similar environment is an advantage, it is not essential. Training will be provided.
- Mechanical Knowledge: Knowledge of mechanical systems is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Team Player: The ability to work effectively as part of a small, dedicated team.
- Weekend Availability: Flexibility to work regular weekend shifts.
